  • Reaching Others for Christ

life-saverAs a Christians, God has purposed us to reach the lost, to preach the gospel to those who would listen, and even to those who think “its foolishness” 1 Corinth 1:18. The modern church is continually hammered by scandal, impropriety, and to the non believer, it’s an institution set up to take your money. For these reasons, many will never go to a bible based church. They will never hear the message, and the Holy Spirit will never be able to convict them of our sinful nature, which separates us from God, and condemn us. That’s why evangelism is so important in reaching the lost, but largely ineffective because of the places people evangelize.

Street corners, parks, stores, etc. It requires putting the person in an embarrassing, uncomfortable position. He or she may say yes, to your message under pressure, all they can do is listen politely, or leave and flat out reject your message, in either case they soon recant when away from that setting. Typically people will walk the other way, rather than getting in to that situation. It’s hard to reach the lost, but people came to Jesus to hear His message. Jesus put people at ease, and was truly interested in the person. Jesus even spoke from a boat. Luke 5:3. His GOOD NEWS message saved the lost, and gave them hope. People come to the GOOD NEWS boat, and people will continue to come. They will come and be served, they will see God’s glory, they will hear a message from God’s Word, and they will see God’s light shine through this ministry.

    Grow Others in Christ

growingWhen people come on the GOOD NEWS they want to help, they want to learn. As God continues to grow the ministry, we will “make disciples of all nations” Matt 28:19 We will teach and mentor kids to fish, crew, and how to run and sail a fishing boat.

We will show others how Jesus taught us to serve. We will teach others the message of the gospels, and they will share that message will family and friends. We work together with other people and have other boats to bring the GOOD NEWS Fishing Ministry to different areas and different parts of the world.

    Serve Others Through Christ

grow-othersAs we continue to grow, there will be other churches, groups, missions, ministries, individuals, companies that will want to utilize the GOOD NEWS as an outreach for their own particular needs.

It may be for Bible Study, leadership meetings, fellowship, small groups, teaching & training, individual evangelism opportunities, prayer meetings. We need to let all these organizations know that we all need to work in unity and purpose to further the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will offer our ministry to be used to serve any of their needs which will fulfill this purpose.

  • Our mission today is to provide an encouraging environment for the poor and underprivileged youth in our community, whereby allowing them to experience God’s wondrous creation through outdoor activities. We share the Word of God, through Holy Bible scripture, and discuss positive practical application in our daily lives, and at the same time enjoying the teamwork with each other through sport. The ministry is available for trips on Friday and Saturdays.

We offer two different types of trips:

    • 1 Drift Fishing
    • 2 Peanut Island Adventure BBQ Cruise

Our drift fishing trip can accommodate about 8-10 people fishing, with 2-4 crew. We generally go out about four to six miles over certain reefs, and fish for snapper, kingfish, and grouper, and generally run about 6 hours (8:00am to 2:00pm or 9:00am to 3:00pm). We provide all bait and tackle, and water and soda for drinks. Our trip starts with Captain Tony providing a history and description of the GOOD NEWS Fishing Ministry, safety procedures, and cautions & rules on the boat. He then leads us in prayer, before we get under way. We fish for a couple of hours, and then at an appropriate time Captain Tony shares a message with all passengers. The message is based on Bible scripture, both Old and New Testament, and is different for each trip, and relevant to the group we are serving. He then offers the Salvation Prayer for any and all who feel that God is calling them to give their life to Christ. We also make available to them, bibles and tracts. We then resume fishing and fellowship and return to the dock. All fish caught are then cleaned and filleted and distributed among our guests.

The Peanut Island Adventure BBQ Cruise is available for larger groups, especially children, and youth. We can accommodate 30 kids& adults for the short trip to Peanut Island. We have made multiple trips for larger groups. The trip last about 6 to 7 hours and includes a number of activities, including swimming, snorkeling, beach games, hiking, and fishing. We disembark on the island, and set up camp at one of the pavilions. Under the supervision of crew and chaperones the kids partake in all of the activities offered. At lunchtime the crew of the GOOD NEWS prepares a BBQ lunch, complete with hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, water, Gatorade, salads, and desserts. After a prayer and blessing everybody eats together. Directly after the meal, Captain Tony shares a message as he does on the fishing trip, and offers the Salvation Prayer. We then resume activities and continue the fellowship with everybody, until we return to our dock.

We have established ongoing relationships with Youth for Christ, Urban Youth Impact, and other youth outreach programs from Fort Lauderdale to Martin County. We provide programs for youth pastors at various churches in the area. We have provided custom trips for those looking to utilize the GOOD NEWS for outreach.

  • The GOOD NEWS Fishing Ministry will expand its appeal to a broader group by making itself available to different organizations, and by adding additional type of trips and programs. As in current trips, all new and future trips will continue to be centered on the GOOD NEWS message:

    • 3. Delivering a scriptural message that speaks to our group.
    • 4. Offer a Salvation Prayer
    • 5. Thanksgiving & Testimony
    • 6. Prayer & Fellowship

  • Good News Fishing Ministry

We believe that the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love; that He is mercifully involved in the affairs of men; that He hears and answers prayer; that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit. He indwells Christians and enables them to live godly lives. We further believe that biblical examples of the Holy Spirit’s power and gifts of are available to believers today.

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him and were alienated in that relationship through their own sinful disobedience. As a result, man is incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through man’s greatest accomplishments or best deeds.

We believe that the blood Jesus Christ shed on a Roman cross is the only way for the sins of humanity to be forgiven. Therefore, salvation occurs only when faith is placed in the work Christ finished on the cross.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved enjoy the resurrection of life, and the lost suffer the resurrection of damnation.

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which the Lord Jesus is the head. The members of the church are those who trust Christ for salvation. The church’s purpose is to glorify God by loving Him and making Him known to the world.

We believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we practice water baptism and take communion regularly. We do not believe that these practices are essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.
